Aarsleff to build Denmark’s tallest building

Today, Per Aarsleff A/S has signed a contract with the consortium Lighthouse United for the construction of Lighthouse at Aarhus Ø. At 142 metres, Lighthouse will become Denmark’s tallest building.

The design & build contract comprises the construction of the 43-storey Tower, two 11-storey low-rise buildings – Promenadehuset and Kanalhuset – and an associated two-level underground parking garage.

Jesper Kristian Jacobsen, CEO of Aarsleff, says: ”We have been very satisfied with the cooperation in the planning phase with Rune Kilden, Stine Hindby, Domis Ejendomme, the architect 3XN A/S, the consulting engineer Rambøll A/S and the landscape architect Schønherr Landskab. The preliminary design phase has been a good and open process making the construction phase more efficient, and we look forward to continuing the good cooperation and commencing the construction of this exciting building in Aarhus.”

The design and planning phase has involved several departments and companies of the Aarsleff Group. All parties involved in the project have taken part in preparing and contributing to buildability, e.g. by performing comprehensive wind studies of a model of the high-rise building. Also, we have performed full-scale testing of the ground engineering conditions by installing two bored DN2000-millimetre piles to a depth of almost 70 metres.

The construction work will begin in April 2019 and be handed over in several phases. The first apartments will be ready at the beginning of 2022 and the last apartments in the middle of 2022.

The contract has a value of approx. DKK 1.2 billion.

The contract does not affect Aarsleff's earnings expectations for the financial year 2018/19.
