Aarsleff to build new compressor station near Egtved, Denmark
Aarsleff has entered into a contract with Energinet.dk. The contract involves building of a new compressor station near Egtved as well as renovation and expansion of existing valve stations.
The contract has a value of approx. DKK 470 million and will be executed together with Max Streicher GmbH & Co. and Johann Bunte Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG from Germany. Aarsleff’s share of the contract is 30%.
The natural gas system in South Jutland is to be expanded and therefore a new compressor station is to be built. A new gas pipeline will be established from the German border to Egtved. In a few years, this will enable Denmark to import natural gas from Germany when the natural gas production in the North Sea declines.
The contract is a turnkey contract. Work will commence in January 2011 with design and civil engineering work at the site of Energinet.dk in Egtved. In addition to the soil and cable work, the civil engineering work consists of concrete work for the establishment of service buildings for e.g. emergency generator and storage. The production of machine components and assembly work will take place in 2012 and 2013. The compressor station will be commissioned in the autumn of 2013, and the contract also includes an option for the operation of the compressor station the first year.
The earnings impact of the contract will be included in the total earnings expectations which will be informed as usual in the preliminary announcement of financial statements for 2009/2010.
