Construction pit for Mediaspace and new waterfront

Per Aarsleff A/S has signed a contract with Aarhus Municipality for the execution of the construction pit for Mediaspace and a new waterfront in the project area at Port of Aarhus.

The contract value is DKK 125 million.

Mediaspace is part of the project Urban Mediaspace Aarhus which will include a new central urban waterfront space and be part of the development of Aarhus Docklands. Mediaspace will e.g. house the main library, citizens’ services and a car park.

The civil engineering contract will comprise all work in connection with installation of sheet piles and piles, demolition of existing quay structures, groundwater lowering and soil handling in connection with the construction pit and modification of quay structures.

The work will begin in June 2011 and must be completed by year end 2014.

The order does not affect Aarsleff’s expectations for the financial year 2010/2011.
