Sheet piles and reinforced concrete piles for a new building complex in Aarhus

In the centre of Aarhus, between residential build­ings and adjacent to the old freight rail area, Aarsleff has established the construction pit and installed the foundations for two of the three buildings that form the residential and commercial building complex, Æggepakkeriet. The establishment of the construction pit comprised demolition of a car parking area, installation of the approx. 3,000 square metres of sheet piles and exca­vation of 13,000 cubic metres of soil in different soil classes. About half of the soil was contaminated, so this part of the soil was dealt with in an environ­mentally acceptable manner.
