Construction pit in Aarhus
In the centre of Aarhus, Aarsleff has established the 2,600-square metre-large construction pit for a new hotel. We were to disturb the surroundings as little as possible, and due to the requirements for noise and vibration, we carried out the retaining walls partly as pressed-in sheet piles and partly as secant pile walls. Subsequently, the retaining walls were supported by 330 strand anchors in up to three levels. Finally, we excavated 18,000 cubic metres of soil, installed drains and discharge pipes completed by a 15-centimetre-thick reinforced levelling layer of concrete, and we installed 350 vertical anchors to keep the concrete slab in place.
