City tunnel in Malmö
Aarsleff has participated in one of Sweden’s biggest infrastructure projects – Malmö’s underground railway, Citytunneln. We established two parallel 4,650-metre-long railway tunnels from Holma to the centre of Malmö. In addition to the actual drilling work, the contract comprised construction of a 250-metre-long station area 25 metres below surface at Triangeln Station as well as a 700-metre-long ramp at Holma in southern Malmö. Part of the ramp is designed as an open construction, another part is underneath a portal structure, and the rest of the ramp is cast as a double concrete tunnel, a so-called cut and cover tunnel. At the construction pits at Triangeln and Holma, we have carried out sheet piling, earthwork, cable work and groundwater lowering.
