Foundations at Rødsand 2
The offshore wind farm Rødsand 2 consists of 90 wind turbines and one offshore transformer platform. The offshore wind farm is one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms. All foundations consist of concrete gravity caissons and were cast directly on large barges in Poland and transported on the barges. Each foundation measured a footprint of 17 metres x 17 metres, a central shaft diameter of 5 metres and an empty weight of 1,200 tons.
