Equalising reservoir in Aarhus
In the centre of Aarhus, Aarsleff has constructed an equalising reservoir with a capacity of 16,000 cubic metres. The reservoir is 63 metres long, 30 metres wide and 9 metres deep. We have carried out concrete work, sheet piling, installation of anchors, excavation and installation of precast concrete units. The sheet piles were pressed in place to minimise noise and vibrations. The sand layer in which the anchors were to be installed was very wet, so we chose an alternative solution of hydraulic waling instead of horizontal, drilled anchors.
