Harbour extension in Greenland
Per Aarsleff Grønland ApS has extended the harbour in Sisimiut in joint venture with Permagreen Grønland A/S. The harbour extension comprised the construction of a 176-metre sheet pile wall to provide the harbour with two new quays of 90 metres and 30 metres. The water depth was dredged down to 12.2 metres and 10.2 metres. So now, even large ships can dock close to the quay. The harbour extension proved a challenge due to the climate in Greenland.
