Extension of port in Stockholm
Aarsleff has executed the design and build contract for the new harbour “Värtahamnen”, the largest of Stockholm’s harbours. The extension included a new 85,000-square metre-large harbour in the harbour basin, and transformation of the old harbour areas into a new urban area. The harbour extension included the extension of a pier as a pile-supported bridge deck, construction of a new 1,200-metre-long quay with 5 ferry berths and dredging of the harbour basin. At the same time, we carried out a second contract at the port, comprising the extension of the existing infrastructure at and around the harbour areas.
